Through its subsidiary the Haifa International Stadium Company Ltd. and in cooperation with Haifa Municipality, the Corporation has developed and established the new sports complex at the city's southern limits. The Corporation established the Sami Ofer stadium, Israel's most advanced and modern sporting venue, located at the heart of the sports campus, compliant with EUFA's international standards and intended for sporting events, large-scale entertainment and family fun. The Sami Ofer Stadium is ranked high among leading stadiums and is currently considered one of the most advanced stadiums by European standards. The project includes covered grandstands for about 31,000 spectators, fan clubs, viewing booths and V.I.P rooms, a designated area for a football museum and showrooms. The Haifa Economic Corporation's initiative includes establishment of a commercial area within the perimeters of the sports complex, adjacent to the Sami Ofer Stadium, as part of the transformation of the entire complex into Israel's northern leading recreation and leisure center.
Construction began towards the end of 2009 and the first games began taking place in 2014.
