Over the past decade, the Corporation has been working to connect the technological communities to high-tech companies, academic institutions and medical centers, thereby establishing the Haifa ecosystem.

The Haifa Economic Corporation founded most of the city's young technological entrepreneurship events and planned dozens of meetups, hackathons and forums which supported the technological community while generating many collaborations between municipal institutions, professional companies and different academic bodies.

In a joint venture with the Israel Innovation Institute NPO, the Haifa Economic Corporation founded the Be.Well Haifa innovation community. The purpose of the now national community is to create and expand cooperation with all of Haifa's health and entrepreneurial organizations, in support and integration of young entrepreneurs.

Collaborations with the academia –

The Corporation promoted collaboration with Haifa's leading academic institutions, the Technion and the University of Haifa, while it supports original technologies by startup companies that handle development in Haifa's academic institutions:

  • The Technion's DRIVE Accelerator – investment with the Technion and support of entrepreneurs with Seed / Post-seed phase technologies.
  • The Carmel Innovations 2 Fund – investment in companies in the Post-seed / Round A phase through the Carmel 2 Capital Fund of the University of Haifa.
