Initiated by Haifa's mayor with the cooperation of the Haifa 2030 Administration, the Corporation is leading a unique project to encourage and regenerate Haifa's commercial activity, in response to the economic problem brought on by the Covid pandemic.
The activity includes: in a unique and unprecedented move for the first time in Israel, the Haifa Economic Corporation nominated a huge budget of NIS 10 million from its equity for the project, to provide the public with real and actual credit on purchases.
In a joint effort with financial partners, the Corporation, along with Isracard Credit Company and Easy, a platform connecting people to local businesses, mutually initiated the CASHBACK project and recruited hundreds of privately owned SMBs in Haifa to participate in the program. Through media exposure and advertising, Isracard card holders who make purchases in those businesses in Haifa, accumulate NIS 1,000 and receive a NIS 50 credit (5%) directly to their credit card on the purchases they make.
